The right thing says everything
Combining practical tools with outstanding multimedia lifestyle features, the SGH-D500 becomes an essential in every person’s hand.
With 96MB of storage space, hi-resolution 1.3-megapixel camera, 262,144-Colour TFT-LCD display, cool MP3 music player, 64-Chord polyphonic ringtones and BluetoothTM technology, the D500 is truly a phone of the highest class and quality.
The Samsung D500, is for all of us who have time and again looked towards products from Samsung with great expectations, only to have them fall on the face when you realise that you favorite feature is missing out. The D500 promises to change things from Samsung and if the mnufacturer continues to improve as it has with the D 500 then products from the company will not just be the number one in terms of the best display or weight (as it has been so far) but also interms of features and specifications, something that Samsung has always lost out on. Samsung is basically the largest manufacturer of displays and other cell phone parts, in fact they even supply to a lot of other cell phone companies. However as a manufacturer themself, they have never broken new barriers.
Below the screen, a D-pad and five buttons gives the option to make calls and access functions via the menu instead of sliding the phone’s number pad open. Alternatively, you can set the slider so that opening it automatically answers calls and closing it locks the keypad. The number pad itself is perfectly designed, a joy for texting with no sponginess to the keys. Type numbers in, and Samsung’s gorgeous, retro sans-serif black numerals appear clearly on screen. Sadly, Samsung has yet to rethink the menu graphics, which are typical of the all-singing, all-dancing icons that appear on most mobile phones and which could be so much simpler.
500 offers a 1.3 megapixel camera and the quality of photos is commendable for a camera phone. Offering resolutions up to 1280 x 1024, the D500 camera also offers numerous shooting effects, including Black and White, Sepia, Negative, Emboss and Sketch. You can also select a wide variety of frames to add to your image and a few button presses allows you to easily format your picture to be sent as an MMS message. The flash for most part worked well, however don’t expect to light up pitch black darkness - you’ll still need your dedicated digital camera for quality photos.”

Beyond Limits
The Ultra Edition 9.9 (SGH-D830) has a minimalist design that looks as good as it functions which enable you to enjoy the full spectrum of this handset’s features. Minimalist design meets maximum performance, all with a depth of less than 10 mm!
The Samsung SGH-D830 is the thinnest folder phone in the world, the only model comparable in the market is the NEC L1 (2mm thicker) that was released a year ago. The D830 is perhaps the most technically advanced model out of the entire Ultra series, and this might explain why it is the most recent model to ship. Today we will see if the D830 lives up to the Ultra hype, and if it was worth the wait.
The SGH-D830 is a marvel of design, particularly when it comes to thinness. Samsung has incorporated a wonderful screen too. However, thinness aside, I found its size in the hand a bit much at times. It was awkward to open the clam, while the flat keyboard was a barrier to efficient use, despite its large keys.
This phone is the slimmest phone currently on the market, fitting perfectly into any pocket. Although thin, it is packed with extra features, including a 2.0 Megapixal camera. 80 MB of memory, 1000 message storage and an addition memory card slot. However as a result of the slim design, the phone is slightly let down by its battery life and touch sensitive keypad.
The Samsung D830 is defiantly better suited to those who prefer to call, rather than text, and charge their phone regularly. That said, I would have to recommend this phone to anyone.
With clamshells all seemingly coming with dual screens, dual cameras, and dual everything else these days, the first thing you’ll notice is that the D830 is lacking both the dual camera - unsurprisingly its not 3G - and a decent dual screen on the front.
The front, which according to some we’ve shown also looked like the back - i.e. bland, features a simple single colour display that offers basic information like the signal strength, battery info and time and date.
