More than a mobile, Samsung’s new tri-band Megapixel P730 phone’s high-resolution camera and camcorder will energize your images with quality and innovation in one swiveling folding handset.

The most impressive feature of the P730 is undoubtedly its imaging functions and options. The camera captures sharp 1,024 x 864-pixel pictures, more than adequate for any 3R-sized photo. Besides a new matrix shot mode which takes four or nine shots and compiles them into one picture, other effects such as emboss, oil painting and sketch can be applied to both photos and movies for that added touch of creativity.

Movie recording is also excellent–comparable with the Pantech GI100–with smooth frame rates, decent sound pick-up and up to 1 hour of continuous recording, even if videos are limited to 352 x 288 pixels in size. You can set your recorded clips as video wallpaper which is a really cool feature.

This is a beautifully crafted mobile phone that fits nicely as it should in even the tightest of trouser pockets. you know the problem with most flip top mobiles, yes they look great but they always seem to be sticking out of your pocket as if it were some sort of great annoying tumour which is really what you dont want on a night out, hard to get in and out of your pocket.phones are there not just as fashion accessoris, as those with the older bricks found out to their cost, they are there to be functional and cute.

Feel the movement in your hand as you open the Samsung P510 to a world of possibilities.

The P510 supports SMS & EMS messages, and MMS messages. The MMS messages can contain image, sound, and text files - both when they are sent and received. SMS messages can be longer than 160 characters, being spread over more than one message. MMS messages, image files, video files, games, applications, and everything else the P510 allows are stored on the 5.5mB internal memory.

The camera is VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) which is typical for mid-range camera phones, and the quality of the camera is comparable to Samsung’s other camera phones like the E800 or E700. The camera on the P510 benefits from a LED flash, so you can take pictures in low lighting conditions. It can also be used in camcorder mode, although the maximum duration of recorded videos is 20 seconds. Videos do not include sound unfortunately.

Apart from the opening function, the P510 is a well-rounded phone with a 65k colour display. The external OLED display is excellent. Icons are displayed in two colours, with a retro styling and choice of clock displays. As Samsung made such an impact with the rotating camera spindle on the classic V200, comparisons to this and other models are unavoidable. The industrial style chrome shell is still evident, but with softer curves. Those annoying rubber plugs are replaced (for the headphone socket at least) , by a hard flip/twist cover. The plug for the charger socket is made of hard plastic, but still likely to be lost in the carpet after the first couple of charges.

New Samsung M300 is a mini-sized mobile with a fun design that is so adorable you’ll fall in love with it at first sight. This miniature masterpiece, in addition to its undeniably cute design, offers great features like a camera and an FM Radio. After all, great things come in small packages.

Measuring 80×40x16.7mm it’s hard to believe the M300 is a flip phone. It’s surprisingly tiny and light, making it ideal to slide into a pocket or bag and forget about. Despite the compact size, the M300’s plastic surface feels solid and the flip is smooth and easy to open. Our review unit was part of a limited edition The Simpsons Movie pack, so it was finished in a “Simpsons yellow” colour - regular M300 units are available in dark blue and coral pink outfits. The limited edition handset includes five preloaded The Simpsons wallpapers, one ringtone and also includes a mobile flasher in the package.

“The Samsung M300 works on Sprint’s CDMA voice network and uses 1xRTT for data instead of Sprint’s faster EV-DO 3G service. The Samsung M300 is capable of web browsing, which I gave a try and found to be painfully slow. Even with great reception, the device seemed to timeout too often for my liking. The device gave us great voice reception, though calls at times lacked volume and had noticeable squelching. The phone’s speakerphone held its own but is best if used in short distance situations. The M300 supports Bluetooth, which will allow you to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth enabled headsets, car kits, and will even allow you to use the handset as a modem with the DUN profile, though I don’t recommend this due to slow data speeds. The Bluetooth system also supports the OBEX profile; swapping contacts back and forth with my Vista PC worked easily enough. Pairing was simple with my Jabra JX-10 and offered a good quality connection. For added handsfree support, Sprint also offers Voice Signal’s handy speaker independent voice dialing system.”

The E770 is not the highest spec phone available, but is still very good. Starting with the imaging capabilities, the E770 has a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and a video recorder. Both of these are of excellent quality. The outer display is a 262k colour OLED LCD screen and the main display is a 262k colour TFT screen. Both are again of excellent quality. The camera and display of the E770 are not the best that Samsung has ever produced (try the D600 if you want more) but they are a very close second.

If it’s cute you’re looking for in your next phone, you may well have come to the right place, because this is a neat handset that shows off what clamshells are best at — being small and unobtrusive in your pocket. If the outside were simply composed of two-tone matte silver with black edging, we’d say the E770 appeals to our idea of understated neatness. Add in the shiny front buttons and camera lens, and a front screen, and we’re talking bling.
