Stylish Camera Phone With Flash

Answer the call of the night with features like night shot and flash in a sleek and hip camera phone.

Sporting a 16-bit display capable of displaying up to 65,536 colours at a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, the SGH-X600 is a step away from how Samsung has preferred its most recent high-end phones to be made: as clamshells. Clearly aimed at consumers, the new handset offers broad messaging support with both SMS, EMS and also MMS under its belt - the latter of which supports sending and receiving messages up to 80 KB in size. The built-in camera of the SGH-X600 is of the VGA (0,3 megapixel) variety, offering picture-taking at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Digital zoom is present, as is contrast alignment, but what makes the SGH-X600 stand out amongst other camera phones is its inclusion of an integrated flash light - a feature which no other camera phone in the European market offers.

Features in the X600 are a mixed bag of hit and miss affairs. There are no surprises in the user interface department since Samsung redeploys its tried-and-tested menu system, which translates into lag free operation. Like its close cousin, the X100, this X600’s SMS system is breezy and intuitive, and the Korean giant has once again incorporated full Chinese support. Worthy of particular mention is the ease in which one can switch between different languages and SMS modes, as well as the ability to add new words to the SMS dictionary.

Regarding display, the 65,536-color UFB screen is clear when the backlight is on, even under direct sunlight. However, colors appear washed out and less vivid than previous Samsungs. With the backlight off in standby mode, the screen is too dark to be easily visible and is rather inconvenient for users who rely on their mobiles to tell the time.
